VKP Interschool Sports Championship - Oct'24
We put Kevin back in Fancy Inline since the TNSSA state meet is coming up soon, and he needs to compete in that style.It rained heavily the day before, and we weren’t sure if the event would happen. But it did go on, and we arrived just 5 minutes before it started. Kevin hadn’t practiced at all, and he struggled; he was slow, didn't try any crossovers, and ultimately had one of his worst races recently.Adele didn’t do her best either. She had to race against kids about two years older than her, but she still managed to finish 3rd in both of her races.We learned a lot from this competition:1. We need to adjust our expectations.
2. Make sure he practices at a new rink for at least 30 minutes before a competition. It’s important not to skip any new rink practice.
3. Coming back without any wins motivated Kevin more than ever before.
